About Our School
The New Dawning Christian School was founded in San Juan La Laguna in 1991. Currently, the school serves over 200 students from preschool to 9th grade. San Juan La Laguna is a developing community made up mostly of indigenous Mayans, whose primary language is the Mayan dialect, Tz'utujil. By nurturing the potential of every student and striving to create a better future for all, New Dawning is making a significant contribution to the prosperity of this community.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for self advancement to Guatemalan children and youth through education and Christian values.

Our staff members are not only highly qualified and experienced educators, but they also share a deep love for Christ and a genuine desire to see our students thrive both in the classroom and in their personal lives. Staff members strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where students feel valued, supported, and able to grow in their faith and knowledge of Christ.
